Common uses

These services are for jobs where the same media task has to be repeated across a batch, or files have to be gathered from many separate devices.

Duplication is for putting the same files on many physical devices. Consolidation is the reverse: files from many source devices are copied into one organized destination. Formatting, testing and checksum verification are used when a batch of media needs to be prepared or checked before use.

Product media

Load installers, drivers, firmware, manuals, configuration files or other authorized files onto USB drives or memory cards supplied with equipment.

Training and course materials

Prepare the same documents, videos, presentations or course files on multiple drives or cards.

Events and distribution

Prepare removable media for trade shows, presentations, sales materials, press kits or offline handouts.

Field and equipment deployment

Prepare removable media used for installation, updates, configuration or other approved device workflows.

Archive consolidation

Gather files from many USB drives and memory cards onto one external HDD or SSD, with an optional second copy.

Batch preparation and checking

Format, label, test or verify batches of removable media before they are distributed or put into service.

Pricing & shipping

Pricing depends on the service, number of devices and amount of data. The order form calculates the price for fixed-price jobs before you submit the request.

Shipping and media requirements

  • Do not ship media before the order is approved and paid.
  • Back up anything you cannot afford to lose before sending it.
  • New, blank and existing-data media can be accepted.
  • Clearly identify any source device that must not be overwritten.
  • Formatting, testing and duplication may overwrite or alter data.
  • Damaged, unreadable, suspicious or unsafe media may be rejected or returned without processing.
  • Media consolidation can include many source USB/SD/microSD devices. The 2-drive limit applies only to destination drives. Each destination drive may be up to 8 TB.
  • If media is rejected after it arrives, return-shipping terms still apply.

Frequently asked questions

Do I pay when I submit the order form?

When should I ship my media?

After the order has been approved and paid. The receiving address and shipping instructions are provided after payment.

What is the minimum charge?

Fixed-price jobs have a $25 minimum service charge. The order form shows the job total before you submit the request.

Who pays shipping?

You pay to ship media to Data Job Shop. Standard tracked U.S. shipping back for a normal package up to 2 lb is $12.95. Standard return shipping is free if you provide a prepaid return label or when the service subtotal is $150 or more. Packages over 2 lb, oversized packages and non-U.S. shipments are reviewed before payment.

Can I send used media that already contains files?

Yes, for approved jobs. Clearly identify any source device that must not be overwritten and keep a separate backup of anything important.

Do you provide USB drives, SD cards or external drives?

No. The services listed here use customer-supplied media and storage devices.

How is media consolidation priced?

The price is calculated from the number of source devices, estimated total data and whether one or two destination drives are requested. The exact price is shown by the order form rather than as a public rate table.

Is this a data-recovery service?

No. Media that cannot be read reliably may be rejected or returned without processing.

Why are file renaming and conversion manually quoted?

The price depends on the number of files and the exact transformation requested.

How long does an order take?

Turnaround depends on quantity, total data size, media speed and condition, verification requirements and shipping. Any estimate provided is not a guaranteed completion date.

How do I ask a question before ordering?

Use the order request form, choose the closest service, and put the question in Additional notes. Submitting a request does not charge you.
